Celebrate Lohri

TOUR OVERVIEW

The air is nippy and filled with the enthusiasm of Lohri. Lohri marks the end of winter season, and is a traditional welcome of longer days and sun’s journey to the northern hemisphere. Celebrate this harvest festival around the bonfire in a Punjabi village. Indulge in the fresh harvest of corn and gachak, revari, made of fresh jaggery. Celebrate food and exuberance!

Day 1

We arrive at the heritage city of Amritsar. After lunch at your homestay, visit the Partition Museum. Spend the evening in an authentic Punjabi environment complete with the dancing and sumptuous dinner. Overnight at Amritsar.

Day 2 -

After breakfast, Visit the Golden Temple and Jallianwala bagh. Indulge in a bit of shopping in Hall Bazar and Katra market. Have lunch at the Langar of the Golden Temple. Leave for Nawapind, a small village in Punjab. We will experience the rural Punjab today on the day of Lohri, in a heritage home. Enjoy the sunset ride in the fields and enjoy a hearty Lohri in the heart of Punjab. Overnight at Nawapind.

Day 3 -

Visit the Keshopur wetlands in the morning.The only major natural wetland in the state, the reserve is spread over 850 acres of marshy land near Gurdaspur. It attracts hundreds of thousands of migratory birds from Central Asia and Siberia in the winters. Enjoy a full Punjabi breakfasts and leave for Wagah border to attend the retreat ceremony. Return to Amritsar and settle into your stay. Go for a happy last dinner of the trip. Overnight at Amritsar

Depart as per your flight/train schedule.
